I just installed this new addon for Firefox that allows to clip parts of a website or other file that you are viewing. You can then save the clips for later viewing, blog about them or email them. That way you can just save the bits and pieces of a web page or file that you need or want rather than the whole page for that one paragraph. It’s pretty cool. You can find it here.
I use clipmarks as well, it’s handy for saving bits of articles for research or to remember sites I want to link to relevant to my topic. It’s similar to Google notebook, but the clip’s size is limited, and clipmarks is more of a social site.
You can also use it to save fun things like recipes or tips, share them with others or keep them private. Like other social type sites you can read the most popular clips, follow other clippers with similar interests and they can follow you.
Thanks for the tips, Melody! That’s one of the reasons I was glad to have found it. I’m tired of printing out (or saving on my hard drive) pages and pages of text, just for the one or two paragraphs I wanted. This seemed like a great solution. Sounds like you agree.
I’ll have to look into the social networking part of it. I’m still trying to force myself to get more involved that way. LOL
